Named first in Global Payments' own 10-K competition list: both sell card acquiring plus integrated point-of-sale software to US small and mid-sized merchants, where Fiserv's Clover competes head-on with Global Payments' own POS and software bundles.
Listed in the 10-K as a competitor in both the US and abroad: Block's Square business sells card acceptance, terminals and merchant software to the same small-business customers, usually signed up directly rather than through a bank.
Named in the 10-K as a US competitor: Toast bundles restaurant management software with its own card processing, taking restaurant payment volume that would otherwise sit on Global Payments' restaurant and hospitality platforms.
Cited by Global Payments as a competitor outside the US: Adyen's single platform handles in-store and online acceptance for large international retailers and marketplaces, the same enterprise contracts Global Payments pursues after absorbing Worldpay.
Named by Global Payments in the US and internationally: Stripe competes for online and platform payment volume, winning the developer-led e-commerce and software-platform accounts that Global Payments also targets.
Cited among Global Payments' large established competitors outside the US: Nexi is the leading merchant acquirer in Italy and much of continental Europe, competing for the same bank partnerships and European store estates.
